How scoring works

Goal: Collect the keys, home color, or boxes shown above the board.

Points: Each cleared tile earns 10 points. Matches caused by falling homes are free chains: the second clear earns 20 per tile, the third 30, and so on. Winning adds 50 points per unused move.

Stars: Win for one star. Finish with the move counts shown above for two or three. Hints and undo are free.

What is House Match?

House Match is a free match 3 puzzle game that runs in your browser with no ads, no purchases and no timer. You swap neighboring homes to line up three of a kind, collect keys and unpack moving boxes across 10 neighborhoods that get harder as you go. It was made by InSync Homes & Loans, a Houston real estate and mortgage brokerage, and each finished level ends with one short homebuying tip.

How to play House Match

  1. Tap a home, then a neighbor. Tap or click one home, then a home directly beside it, to swap the two. On a keyboard, Tab to the board, move with the arrow keys and press Enter to select.
  2. Line up three of a kind. A horizontal or vertical line of at least three matching colors or symbols clears those homes. Each cleared home earns a key. A swap that makes no match costs nothing.
  3. Match four to clear a street. Four in a line clears the whole row or column at once. Chains that fall into place after a clear multiply your points.
  4. Reach the goal before your moves run out. Every neighborhood has a goal: a number of keys, a number of one kind of home, or all of the moving boxes. Hints and undo are free, and a lost level hands you a fresh board.
  5. Unpack moving boxes. A box cannot be swapped or matched. Make a match right beside it, or clear its street, and the box opens.
  6. Finish with moves to spare for 3 stars. Each move left when you get the keys adds 50 points. The star goals for the level show under the board, and your best score for each neighborhood is saved in this browser.

What makes House Match different

  • No ads, no purchases, no lives and no waiting.
  • No timer. A move limit sets the challenge, so you can think.
  • 10 neighborhoods that get harder: more home colors, collect one kind goals, and moving boxes.
  • Free hints, free undo and a fresh board after a loss.
  • Stars, a best score per neighborhood and a share card, all saved on your device only.
  • Keyboard play and a less motion setting.

Questions about House Match

Is House Match free, and will I see ads or purchases?

Yes, it is free. There are no ads, no purchases, no lives to buy and nothing to unlock with money. Hints, undo and retries are unlimited and free. The game runs in the browser on a phone, tablet or computer, and there is no app to install and no account to create.

Does House Match have a timer?

No. House Match has no countdown. Each neighborhood gives you a set number of moves instead, so you can think about every swap. Finishing with moves left earns more stars and 50 bonus points per move, but nothing rushes you.

How do you unpack a moving box in House Match?

A moving box cannot be swapped or matched on its own. Make a match of three or more directly beside the box, above, below or to either side, and the box opens. Clearing a whole street with a match of four also opens every box in that row or column. Boxes never come back once opened.

How do the stars work?

Every won neighborhood earns one star. Finishing with enough moves left earns two or three, and the exact move counts for each star show under the board while you play. Hints and undo never cost stars. Your best score and best stars for each neighborhood are saved in your browser so you can replay any open level for more.

Does House Match save my progress?

Yes, in this browser only. The current neighborhood, your unlocked levels and your best scores are stored on your device. Nothing is uploaded, no name or email is asked for, and clearing your browser data starts the game over.

Can I play with a keyboard or with less motion?

Yes. Tab to the board, move with the arrow keys and press Enter or Space to select a home. A Less motion switch in the header turns off the swap and clear animations and follows your device setting by default. Sound is off until you turn it on.

What does House Match teach about buying a home?

Each finished neighborhood ends with one short, general homebuying tip, such as comparing the full monthly cost of a home or checking a flood zone before you make an offer. The tips are not advice for your situation and the game is not a mortgage calculator, a rate quote or a loan approval. For the real process, read the Houston Buyer Guide or play Get the Keys.

Who made House Match?

InSync Homes & Loans, a real estate and mortgage brokerage in Houston, Texas, run by Ben Helstein (NMLS #1577314). The homes, board and code are original. The game is a small thank you to Houston home buyers and a light introduction to the firm.
